SALAF (FR) - (A de Vries): Approaching the 400 metres had to be restrained. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. OCTAVE (US) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner. DERGHAM ATHBAH (GB) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. Near the 200 metres shifted in and bumped another runner. ARKAN ALREEF (OM) - (S Al Balushi): Slow to begin and lost ground. Raced wide without cover for the majority. ES RUBBAN (AE) - (R Dawson): Fractious in the barrier. On arrival to the barrier underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start. Commenced awkwardly. Trainer Mr. A Daud was advised that prior to entering the colt to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. Further, a post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr. A Daud was notified that the colt would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. GURM (FR) - (R Mullen): On jumping was bumped by another runner, shifted out and bumped another runner. Was held up for clear running rounding the home turn. JAWAL AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Approaching the 200 metres attempted to savage another runner and was bumped. KESRA (AE) - (S Paiva): Commenced awkwardly and was bumped by another runner. WAADH (FR) - (F Veron): Difficult to load. On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Lost its left hind-plate during the race. Trainer Mr. J de Roualle was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. General: Jockey A Fresu (JABALINI (FR)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was A Fresu’s first breach of this Rule for the season. Stewards inquired into the reason for SALAF (FR)(A de Vries) having to be restrained approaching the 400 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 400 metres WAADH (FR)(F Veron) shifted outwards, tightened SALAF (FR) which had to be restrained. Stewards took into account the evidence tendered by A de Vries who stated that the colt was commencing to weaken and when he was taken outwards he elected to restrain as he thought he would be placed onto the heels of ARKAN ALREEF (OM)(S Al Balushi). Taking into account this evidence, F Veron was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding.

AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) - (T O'Shea): Trainer Mr. E Oertel advised that the horse sustained a cut to its right hind-leg during the race. AKMAL (FR) - (A Fresu): Commenced awkwardly and was bumped between runners, losing ground. ARIF (FR) - (R Dawson): Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 800 metres had to be restrained when tightened for room. FETTAH DU LOUP (FR) - (A M Al Balushi): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Lay in under pressure from the 200 metres. HAMEEM (AE) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. MUJEEB (FR) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. RB KINSMAN (US) - (A Al Rasbi): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. Shifted ground both ways under pressure in the straight. RB TORCH (US) - (F Veron): Commenced awkwardly. SHE'RIS (QA) - (S Al Balushi): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. RAWAA (FR) - (B Pinheiro): Bumped on jumping. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for ARIF (FR)(R Dawson) having to be restrained approaching the 800 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the 1200 metres FETTAH DU LOUP (FR)(A M Al Balushi) improved into a tight run to the inside of ARIF (FR). R Dawson explained that he was reluctant to allow ARIF (FR) to improve into this position as it was his established racing position, however after A M Al Balushi persisted for the run, he relinquished the position as if he didn’t, ARIF (FR) would have been in a dangerous racing position. R Dawson further explained that he received constant pressure from ARIF (FR) until the 800 metres, where he elected to restrain as he was mindful of being placed out onto the heels of MUJEEB (FR)(R Mullen). Stewards advised A M Al Balushi that he must always ride his mounts in a manner that is fair to his fellow riders, not placing himself or others in a dangerous position. Further he was advised that if he continues to ride in such a manner, the Stewards will consider withdrawing his ERA Jockey license.
