On straightening shifted inward before being straightened by its rider. FAKHER AL MEGIRAT (AE) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly, bumped another runner and lost ground. JAP KHANSAA (AE) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. MAJD ALMUTAWA (AE) - (R Ffrench): Bumped on jumping. WSAYEF (AE) - (S Paiva): On jumping shifted in and hampered another runner. Approaching the 300 metres had to restrained when tightened for room. On return to scale the rider advised that the mare raced green throughout. HEJAN (AE) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin then eased off the heels of another runner. ALMAHABA (AE) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin, hampered by another runner and lost ground. |DALMA AL GHARBIA (AE) - (M Rodrigues): Commenced awkwardly. RIM AL REEF (AE) - (R Dawson): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner General: Jockey A Fresu (AF FALAQ (AE)) was fined AED 3000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 16 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was A Fresu’s second breach of the Rule this season and that he won the race. Stewards inquired into the reason for WSAYEF (AE)(S Paiva) having to be restrained approaching the 300 metres. On the evidence and available footage it has established that approaching the 300 metres ES AJAB (AE)(S Hitchcott) shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of WSAYEF (AE) resulting in that mare having to be restrained. Stewards noted S Hitchcott corrected his mount as soon as it shifted inwards and as such reported the incident as a racing incident. Jockey S Paiva (WSAYEF (AE)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 11 (e) for providing evidence during this enquiry that in the opinion of the Stewards was misleading.

RAWAAT AL REEF (AE) - (S Hitchcott): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. RB SUPER DUTY (US) - (A Fresu): Lay out under pressure in the straight. GOLD SILVER (FR) - (S Paiva): Had to be restrained when tightened for room approaching the 400 metres. Passing the 200 metres was hampered by another runner. AL AJEEB W'RSAN (AE) - (R Dawson): Passing the 200 metres shifted out abruptly and hampered another runner. TAMER (FR) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly. Rounding the home turn shifted out and bumped another runner. Passing the 200 metres taken wider on the track by another runner. SAWT ASSALAM (AE) - (G Malune): Slow to begin. General: Jockey G Malune (SAWT ASSALAM (AE)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars being that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of DUC DE FAUST (FR)(M Rodrigues), resulting in that gelding being tightened for room, becoming unbalance and dislodging its rider. Jockey G Malune had his license to ride in races suspended for five (5) race meetings (Meydan 18 February 2022, Al Ain 19 February 2022, Meydan 20 February 2022, Abu Dhabi 21 February 2022 and Meydan 25 February 2022). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account G Malune‘s good careless riding record and that the carelessness resulted in a fall. Stewards inquired into the reason for GOLD SILVER (FR)(S Paiva) being tightened for room approaching the 400 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that AF MAJALIS (FR)(T O'Shea) shifted inwards and tightened the running of GOLD SILVER (FR), which had to be restrained. Stewards noted that AL AJEEB W’RSAN (AE)(R Dawson) may have shifted outwards marginally during the incident. T O’Shea was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear. Apprentice M Rodriques was examined by the club’s medical doctor, with no major injuries being detected, however Stewards stood down M Rodriques for his remaining engagement due to the fall.
