The start of the race was delayed by approximately 6 minutes. PHAROAH KING (USA) - (S Hitchcott): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr. D Watson was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. DOLMEN (FR) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. HARBOUR SPIRIT (FR) - (A de Vries): Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Near the 1300 metres was tightened for room and had to be eased. OASIS CHARM (GB) - (S Kirrane): Kicked the rail in the parade ring, on arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Subsequent to the original examination OASIS CHARM (GB) was examined again after making contact with running rail near the barrier and was passed suitable to race. On return to scale the rider reported that the gelding hung left throughout. TOLMOUNT (GB) - (R Ffrench): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding never travelled well throughout and when placed under pressure felt amiss in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an abrasion above its left eye. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for HARBOUR SPIRIT (FR)(A de Vries) being tightened for room and having to be eased near the 1300 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 1300 metres HARBOUR SPIRIT (FR)(A de Vries) had to be eased when tightened for room by SILCHESTER (USA)(I Al Balushi), which shifted outwards marginally and AL MUREIB (IRE)(R Dawson), which was taken inwards by CASTLEBAR (IRE)(G Sanchez). Jockey I Al Balushi and Apprentice G Sanchez were both advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.
