When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the colt, the rider advised that BAHAR MUSCAT (OM) did not travel well in the early and middle stages and he had to place the colt under pressure from the 1000 metres to maintain his position. He added that BAHAR MUSCAT (OM) was stepping up in distance from 1600 metres however, felt fine in its action on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. BARAKKA (GB) - (S Al Balushi): Leaving the straight on the first occasion taken wider on the track by another runner. Raced wide without cover for the majority. INDYS DAY (US) - (P Dobbs): Leaving the straight on the first occasion shifted in and hampered another runner. ITCHY DE NACRE (FR) - (A de Vries): Slow to begin. Leaving the straight on the first occasion shifted out and away from the heels of another runner taking another runner wider on the track. KALIFANO DE GHAZAL (FR) - (A Al Balushi): Slow to begin. RB YAS SIR (US) - (R Mullen): Began awkwardly. SATTAM MUSCAT (OM) - (T O'Shea): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Slow to begin and lost ground (3 lenghths). Over-raced in the middle stages. Trainer Mr. I Al Hadhrami was advised that prior to entering the colt to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. NAWART BAYNOUNAH (AE) - (F Jara): Began awkwardly. Leaving the straight on the first occasion, had to be restrained when over-racing when tightened for room between other runners. Near the 1600 metres lost ground when steadied by its rider. General: Jockey P Dobbs (INDYS DAY (US)) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground, in that leaving the straight on the first occasion it was established that INDYS DAY (US) shifted in and hampered NAWART BAYNOUNAH (AE)(F Jara), resulting in the filly having to be restrained when tightened for room by that colt.
