The start of the race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to the late withdrawal of CHADDAD (GB). DAGUI LOTOIS (FR) - (S Paiva): Bumped on jumping and was tightened for room shortly after. AKMAL (FR) - (A Al Balushi): Lay out rounding the home turn. CHADDAD (GB) - (M Barzalona): On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination on the request of its rider and was deemed unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 6:32pm. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr. S bin Ghadayer was advised that prior to the horse entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for CHADDAD (GB). CHEIK ROQUE (FR) - (J Rosales): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. FETTAH DU LOUP (FR) - (A M Al Balushi): Slow to begin. GOSHAWKE (US) - (R Mullen): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover in the early stages. AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) - (T O'Shea): Passing the winning post on the first occasion was tightened for room and had to be eased. AOUN (FR) - (R Dawson): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Reared on jumping and lost ground. Lay out rounding the home turn. Trainer Mr. J-C Pecout was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. WINKED (US) - (S Hitchcott): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Slow to begin. Trainer Mr. A Al Hammadi was advised that prior to entering the mare to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for AF AL SAJANJLE (AE)(T O'Shea) being tightened for room passing the winning post on the first occasion. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the winning post on the first occasion FETTAH DU LOUP (FR)(A M Al Balushi) when improving shifted out taking AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) outwards which had to be eased when tightened for room, by that horse and when racing to the inside of AF SANAD (AE)(S Al Balushi). A M Al Balushi was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding.

After reviewing the Stewards video footage the Official Judge and Stewards, in accordance with the provisions of ERA Rule 19(iv), the placings were determined to be: 1st - RICH AND FAMOUS (USA) 2nd - TANEEN (USA) 3rd - QUIET ENDEAVOUR (IRE) 4th - Dead heat between WUFUD (GB) and MINIATURIST (FR) WAY OF WISDOM (GB) - (S Kirrane): Near the 400 metres had to be eased when momentarily tightened for room. ZAINHOM (USA) - (A Fresu): Bumped on jumping. SILCHESTER (USA) - (I Al Balushi): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. RICH AND FAMOUS (USA) - (M Barzalona): Rider accidently dropped his whip passing the 200 metres. DREAM WARRIOR (GB) - (Y Ben Djekidel): Slow to muster speed in the early stages. General: Jockey B Pinheiro (MINIATURIST (FR)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, in that approaching the 400 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of WAY OF WISDOM (GB), which had to be eased when momentarily tightened for room.

MULFIT (USA) - (P Dobbs): When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider advised that MULFIT (USA) was not able to race in a forward position due to the fast early pace of the race, however made up good ground over the concluding stages.
