UNCLE HAMED (USA) - (P Dobbs): Bumped on jumping. Passing the 1000 metres had to be restrained and bumped another runner on multiple occasions. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider advised that UNCLE HAMED (USA) struggled to carry the top weight and in his opinion has an official rating that is too high. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the left fore-leg. AL NEFUD (GB) - (T O'Shea): On jumping shifted out. ATLANTIC SKY (GB) - (A Fresu): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Passing the 1000 metres had to be restrained and bumped another runner on multiple occasions. COCOBAI (USA) - (R Ffrench): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. MIAMI JOY (GB) - (R Dawson): Commenced awkwardly and shifted out. General: Jockey R Dawson (MIAMI JOY (GB)) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that passing the 1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of UNCLE HAMED (USA)(P Dobbs), thereby tightening that gelding in onto ATLANTIC SKY (GB)(A Fresu), resulting in both geldings having to be restrained. R Dawson had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race meetings (Meydan 1 January 2022, Meydan 7 January 2022 and Al Ain 8 January 2022). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account R Dawson’s good careless riding record, he’s reserved plea and assessed the carelessness to be in the low-range.
