HOTLINE BLING (IRE) - (A Fresu): Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. NEW SCIENCE (GB) - (W Buick): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. SED MAARIB (USA) - (A de Vries): Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. SOVEREIGN PRINCE (GB) - (J Doyle): Commenced awkwardly and shifted inwards. General: Trainer Mr. R Freire (HOTLINE BLING (IRE)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the colt with a tongue-tie. Stewards questioned Jockey W Buick (NEW SCIENCE (GB)) regarding his riding over the concluding stages and whether he could have shown more vigor. W Buick explained that he placed NEW SCIENCE (GB) under pressure in the early part of the straight which included the use of the whip and over the concluding stages felt he had comfortably established third position, where he continued to ride the colt out hands in heels. Stewards noted his comments.

DESSMAN (USA) - (A Fresu): Raced wide without cover in the early stages. HYPOTHTICAL (IRE) - (M Barzalona): When questioned regarding today’s performance, the rider advised that HYPOTHTICAL (IRE) was able to lead the event, which is the horse’s ideal racing position and that he was unable to obtain this position at its most recent start. ISLAND RULE (IRE) - (R Dawson): Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the left fore-leg. KIMBEAR (USA) - (P Cosgrave): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. STRONGCONSTITUTION (USA) - (W Buick): Commenced awkwardly. WRECKING CREW (USA) - (P Dobbs): Slow to begin. Near the 1400 metres made an awkward stride and eased down by its rider. When questioned regarding the performance of the rig, the rider advised that in the early stages WRECKING CREW (USA) resented the kickback and making the course proper attempted to jump, landing awkwardly. At this point the rig felt amiss and he eased WRECKING CREW (USA) out of the race. An immediate veterinary examination revealed a wound to its left fore-leg and as such WRECKING CREW (USA) was transported to Dubai Equine Hospital, where after further assessment was euthanized on humane grounds.
