BAALBEK (USA) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. BAWADI SPIRIT (GB) - (P Dobbs): On jumping was bumped by another runner. CITIZEN DREAM (USA) - (R Ffrench): On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination on the request of its rider after having blood present in its mouth and was passed suitable to race. HATHEEM (IRE) - (L Chimenes): Near the 1400 metres was tightened for room and had to be eased. IKAAB (IRE) - (A de Vries): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. KHABAAB (IRE) - (F Jara): Bumped on jumping. MAKASHI (FR) - (G Sanchez): Bumped on jumping. VEDENO (USA) - (R Powell): Slow to begin, tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Near the 1400 metres had to be restrained when awkwardly placed on the heels of another runner and then commenced to race ungenerously. ZAHAU (USA) - (A Fresu): Passing the 1400 metres had to be eased when momentarily tightened for room. PANOSHOSHIC (USA) - (M Barzalona): Raced ungenerously in the early stages and near the 1400 metres had to be checked off the heels of another runner. General: Jockey P Dobbs (BAWADI SPIRIT (GB)) was advised to exercise more care when shifted ground, in that passing the 1400 metres he shifted inwards resulting in ZAHAU (USA)(A Fresu) having to be eased when momentarily tightened for room. Stewards inquired into the reason for HATHEEM (IRE)(L Chimenes) had to be steadied near the 1400 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 1400 metres ONE IDEA (GB)(A Atzeni) shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of HATHEEM (IRE), which was tightened for room and had to be eased. PANOSHOSHIC (USA)(M Barzalona) which was following HATHEEM (IRE) had to be checked when racing onto the heels of that gelding. Stewards noted the evidence tendered by M Barzalona that PANOSHOCHIC (USA) proved difficult to control and would not settle in the early stages. Nevertheless, Jockey A Atzeni was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, for permitting his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of HATHEEM (IRE).

Over-raced in the early stages and passing the 1400 metres restrained, losing ground. VISIBLE CHARM (IRE) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. General: Jockey G Sanchez (TEPUI (USA)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that shortly after straightening he permitted his mount to shift outwards when insufficiently clear of ARROWAY (USA)(M Barzalona), resulting in that gelding being taken outwards and bumping ITTMAAM (GB)(U Holmquist). He then permitted TEPUI (USA) to continue to shift outwards, taking ARROWAY (USA) further outwards resulting in ITTMAAM (GB) having to be eased. Jockey G Sanchez had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race meetings (Meydan 18 February 2022, Al Ain 19 February 2022 and Meydan 20 February 2022). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Jockey G Sanchez’s good careless riding record, guilty plea and assessed the incident as a low range charge.

JADWAL (GB) - (D O'Neill): Shortly after the start was bumped on the hind-quarters by another runner. CELTIC VOYAGER (SAF) - (A de Vries): On jumping shifted out and tightened another runner. TAAMOL (IRE) - (P Cosgrave): On jumping was tightened for room, shifted out and bumped another runner. Over-raced in early stages. Passing the 1100 metres had to shift outwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of another runner. CAIRN ISLAND (IRE) - (A Atzeni): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider could offer no explanation other than CAIRN ISLAND (IRE) should improve from its first run in the UAE. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. KING LEO (GB) - (R Dawson): Marginally slow to begin. On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding hung right throughout. THAMMIN (GB) - (A Fresu): Commenced awkwardly. COUNTRY (GB) - (R Mullen): Reared on jumping and lost ground. WILL TO WIN (GER) - (S Al Balushi): Marginally slow to begin, was bumped shortly after the start between runners and lost ground. General: Jockey V Leal (TANEEN (USA)) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground, in that passing the 1100 metres he shifted outwards resulting in TAAMOL (IRE)(P Cosgrave) having to be eased when momentarily tightened for room.
