JADWAL (GB) - (P Dobbs): Over the concluding stages brushed another runner on multiple occasions. THUNDER OF NIAGARA (IRE) - (R Dawson): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 700 metres was taken outwards by another runner. BAASHIR (IRE) - (G Buckell): Commenced awkwardly. HIGHLAND DRESS (GB) - (A Atzeni): Approaching the 800 metres went amiss, collapsed and dislodged its rider. When questioned, the rider advised that approaching the 800 metres the gelding lost its action and he decided to ease HIGHLAND DRESS (GB) out of the race, however the gelding collapsed shortly after, and he was dislodged. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils and was deceased on inspection. A post-mortem examination will be conducted. General: Jockey A Atzeni was examined by the Club’s Medical Doctor after his fall and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. Jockey P Dobbs JADWAL (GB)) was advised to exercise more care, in that passing the 700 metres he permitted his mount to shift ground outwards, taking THUNDER OF NIAGARA (IRE)(R Dawson) on an outwards course.

LUCIUS TIBERIUS (IRE) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly. STAR SAFARI (GB) - (A Atzeni): Bumped on jumping and was taken inwards by another runner. VOLCANIC SKY (GB) - (L Dettori): Raced wide without cover for the majority. BURGAS (TUR) - (H Karatas): On jumping bumped by another runner and unbalancing itself. CASTLEBAR (IRE) - (B Pinheiro): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. Approaching the 300 metres had to be eased and shifted outwards when momentarily tightened for room. INTEGRANT (FR) - (M Barzalona): Slow to begin. ROYAL FLEET (GB) - (J Doyle): Bumped on jumping. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for CASTLEBAR (IRE)(B Pinheiro) being tightened for room approaching the 300 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 300 metres STAR SAFARI (GB)(A Atzeni) shifted inwards tightening CASTLEBAR (IRE) for a short distance, which had to be eased and shift outwards to obtain a clear run. Stewards noted A Atzeni corrected his mount soon after shifting, however advised to exercise more care in a similar situation and the matter was reported as a racing incident.

Trainer Mr. B Olsen was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete two satisfactory stalls tests. PLATA O PLOMO (USA) - (B Pinheiro): Bumped on jumping. MOTAWAAJED (IRE) - (M Barzalona): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. TELEMAQUE (USA) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin. When questioned, the rider advised the gelding did not begin well and failed to handle the kickback in the early stages. Further, approaching the 1300 metres TELEMAQUE (USA) felt amiss behind and for this reason he attempted to ease the gelding out of the race, being dislodged when TELEMAQUE (USA) severely broke down. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a suspected fractured pelvis and as a result was humanely euthanized. A post-mortem examination will be conducted. BRIGHT START (USA) - (L Dettori): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. REVAMP (USA) - (G Buckell): Slow to begin. LAW OF PEACE (GB) - (A Fresu): Marginally slow to begin. Lay in under pressure in the straight. AHATIS (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Raced wide without cover in the early stages. General: Jockey P Cosgrave was examined by the Club’s Medical Doctor after his fall and was passed fit.
