General: Stewards inquired into the reason for GLOBAL STORM (IRE)(W Buick) having to be eased approaching the 100 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 100 metres GLOBAL STORM (IRE) had to be eased when tightened for room between HUKUM (IRE)(J Crowley), which shifted in marginally and WITHOUT A FIGHT (IRE)(A Atzeni), which shifted out marginally. In assessing the degree of interference suffered to GLOBAL STORM (IRE) and the mitigating circumstances that both horses shifting ground, Stewards advised J Crowley and A Atzeni to exercise more care in a similar situation. Jockey A Atzeni (WITHOUT A FIGHT (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(i) for hitting his mount in front of the saddle whilst holding the whip in the forehand. Stewards took into account that this was A Atzeni’s first breach of this Rule for the season.

On the evidence and available footage it was established the near the 1600 metres FELIX (GB)(N Callan) was taken inwards by other runners resulting in LORD GLITTERS (FR) being tightened for room and having to be restrained. As the Stewards had limited footage of the incident and there was a general shift from the field inwards at this stage of the race, the matter was reported as a racing incident.

Near the 1100 metres was tightened for room and had to be restrained. EASTERN WORLD (IRE) - (R Dawson): When questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding, Trainer Mr. A bin Harmash advised that EASTERN WORLD (IRE) has always shown good early speed in its races and following its most recent starts he was of the opinion that the gelding was not suited to racing over longer distances. He added that he changed the training of EASTERN WORLD (IRE) to a sprinting program and with the addition of visors, he was confident of a forward showing. EJTILAAB (IRE) - (J Doyle): Bumped another runner shortly after the start. Near the 1100 metres was bumped by another runner, shifted inwards and bumped another runner. FREEDOM FIGHTER (USA) - (T O'Shea): On jumping brushed another runner. Trainer Mr. B Seemar was advised that prior to the colt entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for FREEDOM FIGHTER (USA). General: Jockey R Dawson (EASTERN WORLD (IRE)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 1100 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of NOTRE DAME (USA)(M Barzalona), which had to be restrained and was taken inwards bumping CANVASSED (IRE)(A Atzeni) onto EJTILAAB (IRE)(J Doyle), that shifted inwards and bumped DAY APPROACH (GB)(P Cosgrave), which had to be restrained when tightened for room. R Dawson had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race meetings (Abu Dhabi 14 March 2022, Al Ain 18 March 2022 and Jebel Ali 19 March 2022). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account R Dawson’s guilty plea and assessed the carelessness to be in the mid-range.
