SAFWAN AL MEGIRAT (AE) - (A Al Katheeri): After arriving on course, underwent a veterinary examination after not having a start in 1112 days and was found to be lame in the right fore-leg. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 3:55pm. Trainer Mr. A Al Ameri was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for SAFWAN AL MEGIRAT (AE). PHAROAH KING (USA) - (P Dobbs): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the second occasion PHAROAH KING (USA) has bled, acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr. D Watson was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 90 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. MEQDAM (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. ANTIMO (GB) - (A Fresu): On jumping brushed another runner. HATHEEM (IRE) - (F Jara): On jumping brushed another runner. KING'S SHADOW (USA) - (B Pinheiro): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding, the rider explained that he was given no specific instructions, however as KING'S SHADOW (USA) is one-paced he intended on racing in a forward position in tonight’s event. He added, that after beginning only fairly, he urged the gelding along in the early stages, which resulted in KING'S SHADOW (USA) racing keen and rather than fighting his mount to settle, he elected to let the gelding maintain a consistent gallop throughout the race. Further, when placed under pressure near the 700 metres, KING'S SHADOW (USA) ran on one-paced as shown in his previous form. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from the right nostril. Trainer Mr. A Al Shemaili was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for KING'S SHADOW (USA).

General: Jockey S Kirrane (EL FAUST (FR)) was fined AED 1000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 15 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was S Kirrane’s first breach of this Rule for the season.
