NEW TRAILS (USA) - (R Dawson): Commenced awkwardly. TAPITUTION (USA) - (T O'Shea): Reared on jumping, hit its head on the barrier partition and lost considerable ground. Raced wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, the rider advised that after hitting its head at the start and losing considerable ground, he allowed the horse to stride freely in the early stages to determine if there was anything amiss with TAPITUTION (USA). He added, TAPITUTION (USA) appeared normal in its action, however conceded too much ground at the start to be competitive in the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. General: Trainer Mr. B Seemar questioned why there was no handler in the barrier with TAPITUTION (USA) after being loaded into the barrier, which has been common practice for the horse. The ERA Starter, Mr. Shane Ryan advised that on the notes for TAPITUTION (USA) there was no direction to have a handler, however advised that at its most recent start TAPITUTION (USA) did have a handler. Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed.
