AF SALEET (AE) - (T O'Shea): Approaching the winning post improved onto the heels of another runner and had to be steadied. MAALY AL REEF (AE) - (D O'Neill): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. MUNARCHIE (AE) - (J Santiago): Slow to begin. MKA ALHUZM (AE) - (O Chavez): Near the 1000 metres was eased out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr. A S Al Shamsi advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, it must pass a suitability examination conducted by an ERA Veterinarian. JAP ASKARY (AE) - (J Van Overmeire): Commenced awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. General: Jockey S Hitchcott (MUTEFJR W'RSAN (AE)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, in the approaching the winning post he permitted his mount to shifted outwards, at which point of AF SALEET (AE)(T O'Shea) was improving and as a consequence was tightened for room, having to be steadied.

AL ZAFY (AE) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin. Near the 1000 metres had to be restrained off the heels of another runner and lost considerable ground. ES LATTAM (AE) - (F Jara): Near the 1000 metres had to be steadied when taken outward on the track by another runner. HAKAAM (AE) - (D O'Neill): Commenced awkwardly. YAS XMNSOR (AE) - (A Al Rasbi): Near the 1000 metres had to shift out off the heels of another runner. JAP MEHNA (AE) - (J Van Overmeire): Slow to begin. FADIAH AL WATHBA (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Commenced awkwardly. On return to scale the rider reported that the filly hung right throughout the race. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for AL ZAFY (AE)(A Fresu) losing considerable ground near the 1000 metres. On the evidence and limited footage, it was established that near the 1000 metres AL ZAFY (AE) had to be restrained off the heels of ES LATTAM (AE)(F Jara), who had to be steadied off the heels of YAS XMNSOR (AE)(A Al Rasbi). A Al Rasbi tendered evidence that he had to shift out off the heels of FADIAH AL WATHBA (AE)(B Pinheiro), which was shifting in. B Pinheiro advised that although FADIAH AL WATHBA (AE) was hanging right throughout the race and he was trying to keep a straight racing line, he never shifted in onto the fence and in his view left suitable racing room for YAS XMNSOR (AE). As there was limited footage and conflicting evidence, Stewards reported the matter as a racing incident, however advised both A Al Rasbi and B Pinheiro to exercise more care in a similar situation.

Initial evidence was taken from Apprentice M Rodriques, the rider of TRIPOLI MOON (IRE), in the presence of senior rider B Pinheiro. The inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed, as O Chavez was transported to the Hospital for further assessment.
