AF YATWY (AE) - (R Ffrench): Reared on jumping and lost ground. Approaching the 400 metres was brushed by another runner. ASAD ALAWDA (AE) - (T Koyuncu): Raced ungenerously in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, which was eased down on the home turn, the rider advised that ASAD ALAWDA (AE) hung outwards in the early stages and was under pressure to keep up with the field 200 metres after the start. He added that the horse was making a respiratory noise throughout the race and for this reason he eased ASAD ALAWDA (AE) down rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have a slow recovery. BARJAH (AE) - (K Al Balushi): On jumping was bumped between runners and was tightened for room. BORAQ EL MEDAM (AE) - (S Al Balushi): Slow to begin. ESTETHMAR FAISAL (AE) - (Q Al Busaidi): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. HA SABEQ (AE) - (I Al Balushi): Approaching the 400 metres shifted out and brushed another runner. MADDAH AL REEF (AE) - (D O'Neill): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner General: Apprentice M Rodrigues (AF MUHEM (AE)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for using his whip in consecutive strides on two occasions. In assessing the penalty, Stewards took into account that this was M Rodrigues’s first breach of this Rule for the season.
