Passing the 200 metres shifted inwards abruptly to avoid a fallen runner. JAMAAL DES ARNETS (FR) - (C Planas): Near the 700 metres had to be steadied off the heels of another runner. MASHKOUR (FR) - (R Mullen): Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout. MOURTAJEZ AL CHAM (FR) - (A Al Balushi): On jumping was brushed by another runner. ROKBERRY (FR) - (F Jara): Bumped on jumping. AF MUSAMER (AE) - (Saif Al Balushi): Bumped on jumping. Passing the 200 metres broke down and dislodged its rider. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the colt to have a fractured left fetlock and was humanely euthanized. A post-mortem examination was ordered to be conducted on AF MUSAMER (AE). AL KAMEEN (AE) - (J Rosales): Passing the 200 metres shifted outwards abruptly to avoid a fallen runner. ES NASIR (AE) - (A Tiar): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 200 metres had to shift inwards to avoid a fallen runner. ES SHADI (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Commenced awkwardly. MH RAHI (AE) - (M Rodrigues): Saddled had to be re-adjusted on arrival at the barrier. Stumbled on jumping. AF NESNAS (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin and lost ground. General: Jockey Saif Al Balushi was examined by the Club’s Medical Doctor after being dislodged from its mount near the 200 metres and was taken to the Hospital for further assessment. As a result, S Al Balushi was unable to fulfil the remainder of his engagements. Apprentice A Tiar (ES NASIR (AE)) was fined AED 4000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 18 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was A Tiar’s second breach of this Rule for the season and that he excessively exceeded the permitted limit. Further, A Tiar was fined AED 2000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for using his whip in consecutive strides. In assessing the penalty, Stewards took into account that this was A Tair’s second breach of this Rule for the season. Apprentice A Tiar pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of ERA Rule 58(iii), in that he attempted to weighing out with a safety vest that was not approved by the ERA. In assessing the penalty, Stewards noted that the safety vest was extremely light in weight, not well padded and that A Tiar tried to disguise the use of the safety vest when weighing out. A Tiar had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race meetings (Abu Dhabi 2 February 2023, Meydan 3 February 2023, Al Ain 4 February 2023).

Collapsed after the winning post and died. A post-mortem examination was ordered to be conducted on REFULGENCE STAR (IRE). General: Jockey T O’Shea (YURMAN (ARG)) was fined AED 4000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for using his whip in consecutive strides on three occasions. In assessing the penalty, Stewards took into account that this was T O’Shea’s third breach of this Rule for the season.
