SUNY DU LOUP (FR) - (P Dobbs): Passing the winning post on the first occasion, was taken inwards by another runner, and had to be restrained. Following the interference passing the winning post on the first occasion commenced to over-race. Lay out over the concluding stages and was taken wider on the track by another runner. EGHEL DE PINE (IT) - (Q Al Busaidi): Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, was over-racing, clipped the heels of another runner and had to shift out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr. K Al Neyadi was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. MUTAQADIM (FR) - (R Dawson): Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be restrained off the heels of another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr. I Al Hadhrami was notified that the horse would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. GUVNOR (US) - (O Chavez): Passing the winning post on the first occasion was tightened for room by another runner, had to be checked, clipping heels and severely unbalancing its rider, losing ground. IDYLIK EL ALHEM (FR) - (S Paiva): On jumping was bumped by another runner. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was over-racing and was taken out wider on the track by another runner. ONLY SMOKE (US) - (B Pinheiro): Lay out over the concluding stages. ONWARD (FR) - (J Rosales): Passing the winning post on the first occasion was taken wider on the track by another runner. SHOJA'A MUSCAT (OM) - (Saif Al Balushi): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 2100 metres had to steadied off the heels of another runner when momentarily tightened for room. IBN DES VIALETTES (FR) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly. Lay out rounding the home turn. General: Jockey B Pinheiro (ONLY SMOKE (US)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars of the charge being that passing the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift inward when insufficiently clear of SUNY DU LOUP (FR)(P Dobbs), which had to be restrained and taken inwards onto GUVNOR (US)(O Chavez), who had to be checked and clipped the heels of SUNY DU LOUP (FR), severely unbalancing its rider. LOOLWA (GB)(A Fresu) who was following GUVNOR (US) had to be severely checked as a consequence. B Pinheiro had his license to ride in races suspended for five (5) race meetings (Abu Dhabi 15 December 2022, Jebel Ali 17 December 2022, Sharjah 18 December 2022, Abu Dhabi 22 December 2022 and Meydan 23 December 2022). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey B Pinheiro’s guilty plea and assessed the incident as a high-range charge.
