SECRET IMAGE (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Marginally slow to begin and shifted outwards. VERBOTEN (IRE) - (P Dobbs): On jumping was tightened for room between runners. Near the 900 metres bumped another runner heavily and lost ground. On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding raced flat over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the left fore-leg, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH which may have affected the gelding’s performance. VIOLENT JUSTICE (USA) - (P Cosgrave): On jumping was bumped on the hind-quarters by another runner. CARPE MOMENTUM (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. VASILAKOS (GB) - (R Dawson): Hung inwards for the majority. TRANCAFERRO (URU) - (J Van Overmeire): Lost its right fore-plate during the race. MULFIT (USA) - (O Chavez): On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding resented the kickback throughout the race. MAWTINI (USA) - (A de Vries): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out bumped another runner and lost ground. Near the 900 metres was bumped heavily by another runner and became unbalanced. General: Trainer Mr. D Watson (CARPE MOMENTUM (USA)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the gelding with a shadow roll. Trainer Mr. M Al Baidhaei (MAWTINI (USA)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the gelding with cheekpieces. Jockey P Dobbs (VERBOTEN (IRE)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, in that near the 900 metres he attempted to improve into a doubtful run and as a result bumped heavily with MAWTINI (USA)(A de Vries) who became unbalanced, and as a result VERBOTEN (IRE) lost ground.
