SHABIH ALREEH (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly. KING MONLAU (FR) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin. On return to scale the rider reported that the horse did not appear comfortable in its action throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH which may have affected the horse’s performance. THAYER ATHBAH (GB) - (F Jara): Prior to the race, Trainer Mr. M Daggash requested to withdraw the gelding on the request of the Owners authorized agent. On further questioning, it was the authorized agent’s view that THAYER ATHBAH (GB) was not suitable to race. A subsequent veterinary examination deemed the gelding to be unsuitable for racing. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of THAYER ATHBAH (GB) at 6:29pm. A further veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right fore-leg. Trainer Mr. M Daggash was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for THAYER ATHBAH (GB). RB SEQONDTONONE (US) - (A Al Balushi): On jumping bumped by another runner. Passing the 300 metres had to be eased when tightened for room by another runner. ITCHY DE NACRE (FR) - (Saif Al Balushi): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. SHAMAKH (FR) - (J Van Overmeire): Commenced awkwardly. Passing the 300 metres was taken inwards by another runner. MAJEEDAH MUSCAT (OM) - (R Dawson): Slow to begin. OL PY (FR) - (R Ffrench): On return to scale, the rider reported that the gelding did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH which may have affected the gelding’s performance. ROKBELLO DU CAYROU (FR) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. General: Trainer Mr. H Al Marar (AF MUALAMI (FR)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 63(ii) for presenting the colt in the parade ring with the incorrect equipment. Stewards inquired into the reason for RB SEQONDTONONE (US)(A Al Balushi) having to be eased passing the 300 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the 300 metres, ITCHY DE NACRE (FR)(Saif Al Balushi) shifted inwards taking SHAMAKH (FR)(J Van Overmeire) on an inwards course, resulting in RB SEQONDTONONE (US)(A Al Balushi) having to be eased when tightened for room. Jockey Saif Al Balushi was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding.

TARANOM (GB) - (S Paiva): When questioned regarding his tactics throughout the race, particularly approaching the 800 metres, the rider advised that he was instructed to take up a forward position as the colt can be one paced. He added that after drawing a poor barrier he was obliged to race wide without cover, and as there was no genuine speed in the race, near the 800 metres he elected to improve his position, however the leaders commenced to quicken, and he was left racing wide for the remainder of the race. Further, in his opinion TARANOM (GB) ran on respectively in the straight considering the circumstances. Stewards noted his comments.
