Raced wide without cover in the early stages. Passing the 400 metres when weakening, bumped by another runner. QUALITY HUMOR (USA) - (R Dawson): Lay out rounding the turn and took another runner wider on the track. On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding hung right throughout. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for LEGIONARIO (GB)(V Janacek) being tightened for room near the 400 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 400 metres WITHERING (GB)(A de Vries), shifted outwards off the heels of PITCHER'S POINT (USA)(A Fresu) that was weakening, resulting in LEGIONARIO (GB) being tightened for room, bumping WITHERING (GB) and SANAD LIBYA (USA)(R Mullen), which shifted inwards as it was bumped on the hind-quarters. As Stewards could not attribute blame to any one rider and noted the racing conditions, it was reported as a racing incident and all riders were advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.

FAST-UNO (BRZ) - (J da Silva): When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider advised that FAST-UNO (BRZ) did not handle tonight’s track surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly lame in the right hind leg. KING GOLD (FR) - (A de Vries): Stumbled on jumping and was bumped by another runner. Approaching the 300 metres was held up for a clear run and had to shift outwards to obtain a clear run. MEISHAR (ARG) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 1000 metres had to be steadied off the heels of a weakening runner.
