ASRAA MIN AL TALQA (GB) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. AF ALZAHI (FR) - (T O'Shea): Saddle had to be re-adjusted on arrival to the barrier. AL HAZEEZ (AE) - (A Fresu): Commenced awkwardly. On return to scale the rider advised that the horse felt lame over the concluding stages and for this reason eased AL HAZEEZ (AE) down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the right fore-leg. Trainer Mr. K Al Neyadi was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again it must pass a suitability examination conducted by an ERA Veterinarian. ROKBERRY (FR) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly. WILD SON (FR) - (S Paiva): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. AF GHAYYAR (AE) - (M Rodrigues): Near the 150 metres clipped the heels of another runner and severely unbalanced its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr. E Oertel was advised that prior to the horse entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for AF GHAYYAR (AE). AF MAQAM (AE) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced wide without cover for the majority. AF NAFITH (AE) - (C Planas): Slow to begin and lost ground. AL AJEEB W'RSAN (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly. MAJDI (AE) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly. SAMAU XMNSOR (AE) - (A Al Balushi): Trainer Mr. K A Neyadi requested a veterinarian to examine SAMAU XMNSOR (AE), which was subsequently found to be lame in the in the left fore-leg and therefore unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 5:53pm. Trainer Mr. K Al Neyadi was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again it must pass a suitability examination conducted by an ERA Veterinarian. DAAD (AE) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. GHALLIEAH (AE) - (P Dobbs): On jumping shifted out abruptly. General: Jockey T O’Shea (AF MAQAM (AE)) pled guilty to a charge under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, in that approaching the 150 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of AF GHAYYAR (AE)(M Rodrigues), which clipped his heels and severely unbalanced its rider. T O’Shea had his license to ride in races suspended for four (4) race meetings (Jebel Ali 11 February 2023, Meydan 12 February 2023, Abu Dhabi 16 February 2023 and Meydan 17 February 2023). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account T O’Shea’s good careless riding record, guilty plea and assessed the interference to be in the high-range.
