Stewards' Reports for Dubai World Cup sponsored by Emirates Airline
BENDOOG (USA) - (C Soumillon): Passing the winning post on the first occasion was tightened for room and bumped another runner. COUNTRY GRAMMER (USA) - (L Dettori): Marginally slow to begin. Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. On return to scale the rider advised that the horse raced flat. A post-race veterinary failed to reveal any abnormalities however, an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of mucus that may have affected the performance of COUNTRY GRAMMER (USA). EMBLEM ROAD (USA) - (A Al Furaydi): On jumping was bumped between runners. JUN LIGHT BOLT (JPN) - (R Moore): Brushed on jumping. REMORSE (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Bumped on jumping. SALUTE THE SOLDIER (GER) - (A de Vries): Passing the winning post on the first occasion was bumped by another runner. SUPER CORINTO (ARG) - (H Isaac Berrios): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. USHBA TESORO (JPN) - (Y Kawada): Marginally slow to begin. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for BENDOOG (USA)(C Soumillon) being tightened for room passing the winning post on the first occasion. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the winning post on the first occasion PANTHALASSA (JPN)(Y Yoshida) shifted inwards applying pressure to BENDOOG (USA), which was tightened for room and bumped SALUTE THE SOLDIER (GER)(A de Vries). Stewards noted that Y Yoshida straightened his mount, which avoided both BENDOOG (GB) and SALUTE THE SOLDIER (GER) from losing their racing position, as such Y Yoshida was advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.
